Something delicious is in the works—stay tuned for our upcoming culinary class!

The Next Gen: Family-Pasta Making

In Italy, some of the most cherished culinary traditions are passed down not through cookbooks, but around the family kitchen table. It's where grandparents teach grandchildren, parents share family recipes, and little hands discover the joy of making something from scratch.

The Next Gen celebrates this tradition, bringing children and their grown-ups together for a fun, hands-on introduction to the art of fresh pasta-making.

Working side by side, you'll discover how a few simple ingredients—flour, eggs, and a little patience—can be transformed into delicious handmade pasta. Together, you'll mix, knead, roll, and shape your own dough before pairing your creations with a simple, seasonal sauce.

We will also mill our own flour! Children will get to see how wheat berries are transformed into flour with the aim of learning where ingredients come from and how to transform them into delicious recipes.

Expect flour-covered hands, plenty of laughter, and a delicious meal to enjoy together. After all, the best family traditions are the ones we make ourselves.

And, as always at Seven Hills Farmstead, we'll finish by gathering around the table to enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Rooted in rich heritage and ecological culinary traditions—drawing inspiration from both the rolling fields of New England and the historic hills north of Rome—each session functions as an act of culinary storytelling. Students will uncover the historical, cultural, and social origins embedded in every fold and contour, tracing how regional landscapes, socio-economic factors, and agrarian history shaped Italy's diverse pasta lexicon.
